Mod Reference

The pages listed below serve as a reference to all of the definitions, classes, etc. These aren't "how-to" articles, but rather a "what this does" or dictionary-style reference.

Unless otherwise noted, all articles refer to unmodded content.

  • ini files - Simple "param = value" file used to hold startup options and mod definitions.
  • XML files - Definitions for code-defined structures, like technologies and units. Allows quick and easy modification, but little control.
  • Python files - Scripts written in Python. Higher-level code than what's in the SDK.
  • SDK files - Low-level C++ source code that's compiled into CvGameCoreDLL.dll.
